CFD Brokers - Which One ?

Hi All,

I'm new to T2W so this is my 1st post, I already trade in standard stocks using Selftrade who I find provide an excellent service. However, I'm looking to advance into CFD's so I can take advantage of shorting but there are so many brokers out there who all claim to be the best I thought some of you guys may be able to pass on some of your experiences particularly on their trading platforms,customer dealings and advisory services.

All comments would be much appreciated.

I would go for city index or IG, both have great platform and strong balance sheets.

IG or CMC, probably IG, but I prefer CMC's platform.

Thanks for that, have you used the advisory service of either, if so has the advise averaged on the plus side.

CMC don't do advisory, don't really know about IG, if I was you do some solid research and fiddling on the CMC platform, it costs nothing!! Use IG for large orders, as I have heard of re-quotes for CMC, although I never experienced this. Also with CMC, if your account balance drops below £137, they liquidate your positions.

I really do not advise the advisory service if IG do have one, not for CFD's, volatility will almost certainly wipe your account if you're not careful, margin calls will knock you off your plans.

Thanks for the advice, is this based on your own experiences with them and have you had any problems with them closing you out early.

Which of the two is the fastest platform to work with.
