Extra money in my account?

Hi,

Few weeks back I made a deposit to my account.

However I found that the broker actually deposited more (x6 times!)
into my account.

Initially I thought that it will "correct" automatically in a few hours/days... of course
they are bound to find it out eventually right?!

But here I'm 3 weeks later and still have that amount :-0 in my account!

Have been lazy in not calling them up till now but really disappointed that they have not found it themselves yet... surely someones account is missing that deposit/money??!

My gut reaction was why should I call at my cost & time, to point out their basic mistake!!

But looks like I'll have to play the good card anyway ;) so plan to call first thing Monday

One very bad thought which came to mind was maybe they have done it intentionally?!
:devilish:

So that if I lose the money they would then like to recover it from me!!! :p

Has anything like this happened to you?

Cheers

ring them up, tell them that you want to withdraw all of your funds. Of course let them know if they get to the point of giving you 6x you initial amount.

its mine i lost it earlier this week :p il send you my details so you can send it back to me, which company btw i think i need to change mine just take my money :p

Sometimes brokers are glitchy with others peoples trades into mine. This happened before to mine. Just withdrawal all your cash and switch broker :D.

no.. that would be 600x in brokerage

there was a story of a guy somewhere, think it was on these boards... and the SB company made an error and put a few thousand in his account, and he traded it, lost - and now the company are reclaiming that money.

If you know someone has mistakenly put money into your account you have to return it or face charges of theft

Actually thats not correct. In fact I can sue for laundering in my account!

Especially since I can prove the source was not my Bank account/ credit/ debit card.

Am I the only one who thinks you shouldn't play the honest guy? If it was a bank/company paying you money then say something - but as it's a bookmaker screw 'em I say. Take out the money in increments that won't raise eyes without taking it all out in one go. Put it somewhere for a bit and if they ask for it back then give it to them. If a year passes and nothing has been said then it's fair game I say.

Tempting... but I wouldn't do it. Why?

Its a very strange reason (and yes I believe in some cosmic force!)

My experience has been that whenever I get easy money, it goes away easily as well

All the money which I make by graft/effort (physical or mental) - stays!

Psychology, I guess.

But you can keep the interest earned in the mean time(if applicable). It happened to me once. It was my current bank account , I informed the bank, they withdrew the money and my statement showed that I earned 0.38p interest from that money.
It was £4000 and stayed only few hours in my account.

I am very poor, maybe you could give it to me and then you will have good karma. Like Robin Hood.
