Where is the VIX headed?

It seems like 80 is the limit on the upside. Even with a 5% swing in the DOW today, and a close -203, we're going to settle below 80. It seems to me like we've seen the highest VIX we're going to see, particularly as we get into November and the holiday season.

So, do you agree, and would you play it directly? VIX puts, anyone?

I would be happy to short the vix about here, yeah.

Never ever wanted to short vol until the last fortnight or so...

In fact I think I'm going to go and do so...

That's the first good intuition I've had in two months!
