Hey,

Sorry if this is in the wrong sub-section.

Right so I've got a very basic strategy concept for trading stocks.

I would like to back test this strategy to make sure it has an edge and to give me confidence to stay with it.

Right so my shopping list is:

1) Access to historic data for a large number of stocks
2) Access to historic 52 week high listings (no idea where to get this, some kind of archive perhaps)
3) A bot of some kind that I can set parameters for (risk management, entry/exit ETC..)

Right so my shopping list is pretty vague and I'm not sure if back testing like this is possible but thought I'd ask here.

If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great, thanks.

ProRealTime can back test, with your criteria and free depending on your timescale

Trading view has a very wide range of instruments for backtesting, it has trial version so you can try and may find it interesting and appropriate for your needs.

Hey guys,

I've been looking into ProRealTime at the moment, I'm trying to figure out how to program my conditions and variables into the back testing system.
They have a simplified version but its not comprehensive enough for my needs so I'll need to program it myself using the programming mode.

Does anyone know what programming language ProRealTime uses?
I'd like to learn how to program it myself.
