CMC Withdrawal block?!

This morning I request that a transfer of funds from my CMC account to a bank account in my name.

I haven't used the account in over a year and over £5,000 was just sitting in the account.

I've been informed however they couldn't issue the withdrawal today and I need to wait for some department to actually get back in to the office tomorrow before they can issue that withdrawal.

I can still trade on the account but they mentioned there is a 'withdrawal block' on the account.

Is this normal?

From what I remember when I opened my account is that they will only transfer out automatically to the account you used to deposit the funds in the first place and it needs to be verified. I didn't have to provide any extra documents when I opened mine, but my dad had to send in a bank statement as they couldn't verify his account number with their system.

So if you've asked for the money to go somewhere else then I imagine you'll have to speak to someone first as they'll want proof you are you.

That's my guess anyway.

Just heard back and they can't put it into my prepaid account for security. So will need to open a full UK bank account. Which is a bit of an issue as a now US tax payer.

However CMC have been very helpful and professional.
