I would like to hear from those who are trading at prop firms.

What are the positives and negative about working at a decent prop firm?

I ve looked at a few prop firms and they seemed to take students on, all through the year, so what is the avearge they take in and how many stay and make a living at trading?

Prop firms and firms that charge a fee for training with a future job offer are not the same thing. There are now dozens of firms that have sprung up to sell training courses with some sort of vague job offer if you are successful. Some are complete crooks, others are actually making a good faith effort to train people, though not many.

i am only applying for positions, where you hand NO money over. They train you and fund your account.

As with most things there is good and bad. Join a good company and they will integrate you into a team and get you making steady money (at least covering desk) very quickly and they will have a high success rate. Splits are usually a little less generous at these places, but then again would rather have 60% of something than 80% of nothing. Im sure some people trade from home and make regular money but to get into trading, learn a lot and start trading decent size in your first year this is a great opportunity.

But as for the majority of prop firms that want 20k deposits, give you a couple of books to read and a few months on the simulator before you get binned, id rather go to vegas, better odds of success and the "office" is way nicer
