Hi Traders.
I keep getting phone calls and mailshots about these, personally I think they're for luvvy treehuggers and hence a load of bollox. One of the shots I got this morning is that they are the fastest growing commodity, but I can't find them in any of my futures markets. Who knows about these I mean really knows and is there a chart that I can look at etc.

Trade on ICE - name is slightly off on futuresource but go have a look at theice.com to see the specs. Dec's are the only liquid contract (bar maybe nearest quarterly) as companies etc. need to comply at year end. Fair amount of OI, fair amount of options (all voice brokered then otc cleared via ice) also clears at lch, nordpool etc. but only liquid screen is ICE.

EUA is a bigger market than CER's, there are also JDM's and all sorts of other rubbish, have a look here for some basics:

I'd love to graphically describe them but I might get banned from this site. Just examine the solidified contents the next time you visit a gentlemans facility.

There are certainly some less ethical companies out there selling carbon credits, but it is a growth market according to some of the big boys.ie.barcap, deutsche bank. The things to look for are accreditation either vcs or gold standard and does the company provide a exit strategy if not then how do you get out.Growth wise in the voluntary market has been quite explosive over the past 4 years.I bought 10ks worth off of vcs credits off a company called AGT last december and am up nicely thanks.I did however have to avoid some scammers on the way.

But as a commodity surely they have substance? I tell people (females) that certain "things" have tremendous growth potential but unlees they can see touch or taste the growth difference they will be none the wiser.:LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::smart::smart:

hahaha if they have a telephone, then carbon credits must be good!

But is that pollution cap?

voluntary credits are not really suitable for private investors. check FSA website. you sure your 'up' nicko??
