If PC at CMC can find so much time to hit up answers on a forum* then is it really that improbable that some of our longer term members are actually plants that suggestively push punters towards spread betting and such.

Just start a thread saying spreadbetting companies rip people off by manipulating prices and widening spreads and you'll soon bring them out into the open.
 
I have a feeling if they were caught they'd be in a ****load of trouble with the FSA, is the difference...
 
If you can't figure out whether your broker is f*cking with you or not you're probably beyond help anyway.

EDIT: This isn't targeted at anyone, believe what you will, I just don't think it's a problem whether they are or not.
 
There almost certainly were more glitches 10 even 5 yrs ago. Since the competition base has increased I would argue that the standards have gone right up.

Perhaps think about why PC@CMC is here at all on the forums. Increased competition and service from other providors demands that the old order "get with the programme".

PC is by no means on trial here I'm just outlining the lengths that SB firms are going to to get punters. Plants are not at all outside the realms of possibility imo is all.
 
If it appears to be some lowdown, dirty, scumbag type of activity then forex brokers and spreadbetters will flock to it. I don't know why, but there is an overabundance of easy to scam people out there.

I think it perhaps answers the first part of your statement.

As for me earning anything from the industry...your having a steffi graff right !
Forum "plants" :LOL: some of the debate topics to be had on forums...well all I can say is...some people need to get out more. No, really they do !

The probable answer to the rise in SB activity is part down to entry level funding and also accessability of markets info since tinterwebs inception. No longer is "trading" the exclusive property of the elite and well connected. Much to their annoyance :LOL:

Many companies, large and small, now have people dedicated to social media and viral marketing roles. We have seen people posting here with various usernames promoting products or services. This happens on all the boards and quite often they are caught and their posts deleted. Obviously their intention is to 'plant' themselves and then gently promote their company, its just a form of advanced spamming.

To say this doesnt happen is nonsense, it was only a few weeks ago we had 'he who cannot be mentioned' appearing on T2W under a couple of false names trying to fend off the recent scandal that had been exposed here.

What's to stop someone with a couple of thousand posts here approaching a vendor and offering to promote their product for a fee? You could get their name to number 2 or 3 in google in a few days using T2W.

How much do you have to spend on SEO work to achieve that?

Comes back to the old thing doesn't it? - Use your own judgement. Until you have learned to do that you will never be successful in life - let alone trading.

I still can't understand why the bigger the lie the more likely some people are to swallow it - human nature I suppose.

If you think I'm too embarrassing to endorse your product, perhaps you'd like me to endorse your competitors' products and embarrass them.

Note that t2w is great on google. For an example, search for "death to those who insult islam" on google, with or without quotes.

Paying people to post on forums is pretty much standard practice, that's what a social media 'strategist' does. What scose was suggesting was that someone could have been a member here for a long time and without blatantly selling anything they could have influenced opinion on spreadbetting etc. I think it's entirely possible as is my scenario where a legendary member with 2000 or 3000 posts sells his services to a company in return for forming a positive opinion of them and boosting brand recognition. Entirely possible and perhaps probably that this will happen at some point.

Only thing is - no one has messaged me asking me to do this and I must have one of the biggest post counts (although I may not have a credible reputation :LOL:)

T2w can get a name or phrase to hit 3 or 4 in google almost immediately. That's why all these dodgy operators are squealing when they get exposed here.

Ring up some search engine optimisation geek and ask how much it will cost to get your retail fx website to page one of google. Then you'll know the value of having someone promote it here instead.

The only flaw in your plan is that you've told us you'd do it so we are on the lookout now for your latest trading secret.

Ps if a guy rings you from Hong Kong asking for you to help promote his penny stock 'brokerage' don't take your fee in shares, demand cash.
