I have an interview at OSTC does anyone have any information, clues advise about the process and about the company?

What is there setup like? Any good?

I know they're part of the Kyte group. I'm sure that you'll find some...views on the Kyte group if you search these forums.

Used to be called Trading Connections and On Screen Trading. On Screen part owned by Kyte. They merged to create OSTC. They have offices in Chislehurst and Bromley. I know a couple of the traders down there and they are decent, if they weren't happy I'm sure they would have left by now. I cant comment about the training programme as I have no idea how they go about it now.

Are you paying for training or going in backed?

Well I have to give the guy a call today to arrange an interview.

From what I have read so far its a graduate program with an attractive basic and structured bonus.

4-6 weeks training on simulated markets and then another 3-4 months with limited backing on live markets. Then given good progress more backing is given.

Sounds pretty good from what I have read.

I am a recent grad and do not have much experience and have limited knowledge... I have been reading up!

Does anyone knnow what to expect from an interview?
What sort of questions to expect etc???

Make sue you can add and subtract 3 digit numbes in your head and make sure you can support yourself during your training, do your sums, last thing you need is to be stressing about how to pay the rent while you are spunking somebody elses money up the wall be very clear about how the deal is structured. Most importantly at the interview be very postive about your ability to make it large even though odds are you probably will not. The guys at OSTC that I know are good guys and are not out to screw you over but they are in it to make profit so you better be aware of that. Good luck.

Hi everyone, new member here, I thought I'd bump this thread as I share a similar predicament in that I have an upcoming interview. Does anyone have any knowledge of what it's like working in OSTC, cultures, pressures, expectations, turnover rates etc ?
I was told that my potential wage would be approx £5,000 rising to £10k basic, with the remainder depecdent on profits generated. While I'm up for the challenge to be effectively working on a commission basis, can anyone shed light on the realities in making a wage as a derivatives trader.
Thanks very much in advance for any responses received!

Hi, I cant really comment on OSTC anymore, I believe they have changed the way they do things quite considerably since I knew them. I do know a few of the guy there, and they are good guys.

You will not make any money in the first 6 months to 1 year and even then it's not easy! Dont expect just because if you make it through the interview and get the job, you will be rich in a couple of years time as in reality there are many that just dont cut it.

It really depends on your personality and aptitude to risk, but also the deal they offer you on RT costs and profit split.

Best of luck.

Hello pitchinvasion

Do you or anyother who already had an interview or even a job with OOSTC can confirm these points with me?

- The basic salary would be between 5000 and 10000 pounds per year plus commissions.
- The training period has no cost.
- Do you receive any compensation during the training period besides the training itself?
Any other information good to know about these people is appreciated.
Thanks in advance

I interviewed *recently*:

You've got less than 6 seconds per calculation and there are quite a few to do and for the sake of OSTC, I wont disclose more information.

You've been warned, make sure your mental maths is faster than a calculator!

Just found out I didn't make the cut - at least I cannot be called a geek. :)

They seem like a great bunch of people, and there trainee programme looks excellent. To those who have yet to consider/apply to OSTC and want to trade STIRS, then from what of seen/heard during the interview, it looks like a fantastic opportunity to kick start your career.

Hi
I have an interview next week, I see that many people have done the interview with OSCT.

Does anyone know what kind of questions they ask in the interview and how the hell you answer 50 questions in 5 minutes?
