It is not confined to the cricket team either. I often grow in knowledge and wisdom (and attractiveness to the opposite sex) after my second bottle of wine. That alone is miraculous.

It’s a terribel shame that it only seems work for those who were lucky enough to have been born in god’s own country, isn’t it? I can assure you that it doesn’t work for me, and god knows I drink enough of the (real) amber nectar!

Heard a story this morning about a punter who put 50K on Australia to beat Bangladesh to win $500.
Do you think he's a bit unhappy with the result...still you get what you deserve and who would be silly enough to risk 50 grand to win a measly $500.

Fosters....crikey...only the tourists (and most of England) drink that brew. A real measure of mateship downunder is if your BBQ guests turn up with one or two cartons of Victoria Bitter (for the downmarket type) or Crown Lager (to impress a new girlfriend). I have it on good authority that the 'premium' crown lager is just fosters that didn't quite brew properly anyway!!
For me, since marrying into the Irish, Guiness has been my poison of choice. It sure makes me think I am an international diplomat or sex symbol...or james bond..or tarzan...

I wonder if they'll get their miserable prat of a Prime Minister, John Howard, to present the Ashes to England.
He was such an ungracious basta*rd, not to mention bad loser, at the rugby.
I will agree, John Howard is a bit of a prat.
But our time is not up, it is no where near that stage.
England are going well, but take away Harmisonand what have they got bowling wise, not a lot.
Australia still have 4 of the best bowlers in the world as there front 4 bowlers, Mcgrath, Warne, Gillespie, and Kaspa and then with Lee to back them up.
Then batsmen, well we all jknow what Gilly will do, then Punter, then Hayden, Langer, should I go on.
England are brash and raw and will put up a better fight than they have done for the past few series, but I still think that on form the Aussies will win.
I just hope that I am not proven wrong.

Got a feeling you are right and the Aussies will wipe the floor with us once again.
All I hope is that we give them a good fight and yes, it's bloody exciting and a lot of beer will go down the hatch between now and the end of the Ashes, whether it's Crown Lager, Swan Lager, Guinness, Fosters or my favourite Scrumpy which aint lager.
