Sorry about the novice question guys but could someone tell me:

What does a real money desk deal with?

What is a risk trade?

Sorry, never heard of a "real money desk"...

I'm assuming a "risk trade" is just a trade that carries substantial risk. But then again, many trades do so I might be completely wrong about that. Try searching google or something.

"real money" is a term used in investment banking that refers to clients who hold real assets/cash as opposed to a client trading on leverage.

Your typical real money client would be a pension fund, where as a non real money example would be a hedge fund.

Typically banks prefer to make prices to real money clients as they are perceived as lower counterparty risk

Yes heard about the term real money. I have been working as a forex dealer and now trading for my self. As i have invested money in forex market.
