Hi all,

I got an email from t2w promoting Manny Backuss's First Hour Trading. I think it is an obvious affiliate link but the promotion page (as always) seemed very interesting.

My question is has anyone subscribe to this program? If so is it legit or just an other scam? Any info would be helpful. Thanks

i am on my second week trading with manny and so far so good. the service is legit, he steps all members (via chat) through every trade from entry to exit as well as any adjustments along the way.

i was sceptical at first like most but i am very happy i have joined. in the first week of trading i have paid for the monthly service fee many times over. the key is being able to execute his recommendations in a timely and accurate manner.

hope that helps...

Sounds like Manny has a decent program going over there.

It is always nice to have someone to follow and advise you that you can trust. It's definitely helpful to new traders to have someone like that to help them.

Hope that those profitable trades continue. Good Luck!

Does he offer a program you can follow (a step by step system) or is it just you are with him live during the first hour of trading. Can you implement the system/trade plan without him?

Hi Donny,

Thank you for your response. It sounds very interesting and it sounds like it could suit my lifestyle at the moment. I live in Costa rica and next door to my office is a coffee shop with free wifi. I enter work between 9:30 and 9:45..that's 10:30-10:45 eastern time.

A few questions. Are the trades actually started and finished within the first hour of trading? If so, great for me but if not after the first hour I must pack up and go to my office. Second, how much are you investing on each trade( I do have the $25,000 needed in my account to be a day trader)? And how much risk (stop loss) does he reccomend for each trade? I'm interested and thank you if you can answer those questions and tell me anymore about your experiance with Manny.
Thanks

At this time it's just simply following his recommendations. He will provide you with the stocks to focus on around 6:15am EST. He will recommend an entry/exit and will recommend price targets and constantly update you on the trades (S/L changes, etc.)

However, when I received the welcome package he did mention that there has been some interest (existing members/others) in "using" his system. Not sure where Manny is at with all that though. Hope that helps.

cheers.

You are welcome for the response. All trading is done within the first hour, everyday. The amount of shares you want to trade is up to you. The model Manny works off of and what Manny and Co. recommend is to trade the total number of shares you can purchase for $25,000. Once we receive the stocks in focus I spend as much time analysing the stock so I know what I am dealing with. I base the number of shares I enter the trade with based on my level of comfort with the trade/stock and market conditions.

As far as his S/L' recommendations, based on my quick analysis they are pretty much right on where I would have them but I am a little more conservative than Manny and usually (not always) set my S/L's a little tighter. If you want to trade for the first hour and get to work, I would recommend giving it a try.

cheers

Donny, you just signed up and your only postings are in reply to this thread... and your language is very similar to the advertisement itself...

I wonder if maybe someone with more history in these forums can comment?

It seems like someone could make a lot of money by trying to convince lots of other people to buy or short a low volume stock.

Scam! These posts are all written by same person advertising the product...steer clear is my advice!

Agree. Steer clear of Fanny Backass.

Hey guys thanks for your honest response. Man I get confused. Why do you guys say it is a scam? Have you done it or known someone who has? Or does it just fall into the too good to be true catagory?

Anyone else with some Manny experience?

Guys, this is my first post. I have subscribed to Mannny's portfolio trading system. I have had it for two weeks now. he basically gives up to four short term recommendations (stocks) per week and one long term recommendation. I have nine recommendations in these two weeks. Of these nine trades, two winners, six losers, and one position still open that looks like it will be profitable. The total tally is down-$1410.00 on a 25000 account 2/1 margin.Using $5k+margin per position. That includes the one trade still open with approx$400 profit.
I'm not actually trading his recommendations with real money. I daytrade the es-mini and have my own method.(notice I did not say system) I enter the market at logical pullbacks using a 1min and 3min chart and use support and resistance for my stops and exits.
I look at the charts of his recommendations and I can't seem to find the logic yet. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong time frame.
I am going to keep paper trading his system for a couple of months and see how it goes. I'm looking for an easy way to manage my retirement portfolio and was hoping Manny's would work. I will keep you informed if you care to know.

These posts are so obviously being made up by the person who is trying to sell the system.

Perhaps the mods can do an IP check on the posters - and delete if they all come from the same location?

I am definitly NOT trying to sell you this system. I don't know Manny or any of his company. And why would I try to throw a pitch on his service if it is down over 5% right out of the gate? LIke I said, I can't see the logic in his trades, but I am going to follow them for a couple of months to see how it goes. I get tired of scanning for stocks that fit my trading criteria for my retirement account and thought it would be cool if I paid someone to do it for me. Show me the stocks, I'll manage the trade. Nothing more. I'm definitly not a salesman for any service or system. I don't have the time or desire.

If not Backus then Who??

Ok, Hoggums, your number of postings and being a Legendary Members says that you have been around the block a few times. I am currently getting beat to hell with my trades, all shorts climb and all longs crash!! Down over $147,000 since Oct 8th, and now only have the 25k left. If someone did the exact opposite of my trades they'd be up over 350,000 just since July 5th. So I too have looked at Manny and VantagePoint. I'd be willing to pay a competent trader 20 - 40% of my gains to learn how to do this profitable!!!

hi folks,
I did sign up to his free trial as i wondered if it was possible to spread bet his trades using Finspreads so as not to need the £10k he suggested but the problem i found was, although he was pretty accurate with his trades and i think over the 2 weeks i tried it he did end up winning on more days than he lost,i couldnt find some of the winning stocks on Finspreads so it made the win/lose ratio worse. Had i been able to find all the stocks he traded i would have been up after the two weeks quite a bit.
Just my ten peneth :)

Hello all,

I've been thinking about day trading and came across Manny Backus advertisement and initially researching Manny Backus on google many results pointed to T2W. So I'm not ready to sign up with Manny but seriously skeptical. And from what I've read I would lean away. So just trying to find out more info. Thanks

The best thing to do Dinotats is to sign up for the free trial and try it then after a week or 2 youll have a good idea if it works. This is what i did but as i pointed out above i couldnt replicate his trades (most were winners) on my spreadbetting account and also as im in the uk it meant trading at 2.30pm here which was awkward. For anyone with a better timezone i would recommend giving it a go for free then if its not for you just email him and he refunds the money straight away.
Hope this helps.
Regards
Andy

I can't speak for his first hour trading, but I have subscribed to his portfoliocrafter service. I will most likely be cancelling his service. After over a month, his weekly picks are down pretty bad. I promised myself that I would paper trade his method for a couple months so I will hang in there a while longer.
