Hi Guys,

I have been following a day trading system for a while, and it's been going pretty well. I am putting a summary up on twitter; @HomeTrader1 and a daily blog showing screen grabs of my actual trading account (hometrader1.blogspot.com) along with the trade orders I am placing each morning, during the month of August, just for some fun. if you want to follow someone elses spread bets for a change.

The system brings together a lot of the elements that get discussed on these boards,I will be pleased to share any of my experince with this approach with anyone interested.

Cheers

First day following the system; £25 profit.
Volatile days like today are difficult for day trading systems with tight stops, and after this mornings £300= on screen profits, a reversal saw the day end ahead £25. You can see my actual account screen shots with opening and closing levels.

Day 2-
Orders on 8 different markets today: 5 Currency Pairs, Crude, Wall Street & Silver. See the trade orders on my actual account here

Day 2 End. £26 profit

3 of the 8 opening orders placed this morning triggered today. Positions closed at 8.30pm with £26 profit. Click Here for a full blog of the opening orders placed, including stops, and my actual account transactions (this is not a demo account)

Day 3 - Orders on 6 markets today.

Crude, Dow Jones, AUD/USD, USD/CHF,Russell 2000, US T Note (10 yr)

You can follow the system trades advised each morning by viewing my blog where I include a screen shot of my actual spread betting account; showing the systems orders I have placed in the morning, then a summary at the end of the day, so you can see what happened to my account as a result of those trades.
Orders are placed in the morning, positions are closed at the end of the trading day.
I will be showing this every day for the month of August.

Day 3 End. £110 Profit
Of the 6 orders placed today, three triggered: The Dow, Crude and T Note. The system is a "weighted correlation" day trade system. Orders are placed in the morning, the market will trigger them during the day (or not) I forget all about them until I close the positions at the close of the day (before 9pm)

You can see a screen shot of the orders I place on my daily blog in the morning in advance, so you can follow the same trades if you wish. I then show the closing positions at the end of the day, again a screen shot of my actual spread betting account, so you can see the effect of the trades on my balance.

Click here to see the actual spread bet opening orders I am placing each morning.

Day 4. Orders on 3 Markets today.

The system has generated 3 orders this morning:
Buys on EUR/GBP, USD/CAD and 10 yr TNote.

I have put a screen shot of my actual account with this mornings order levels on my daily blog so you can see the orders in advance, then an update of my accunt with the days profits & losses.

Day 4 End £212 Profit

All three opening orders triggered today. The USD/CAD position was closed out with a profit of £118. The US (10 Yr) T Note position closed out with a profit of £212. The EUR/GBP was stopped out with a loss of £114.

I put the trades up on the daily blog in the morning in advance, and as you can see it is a screen shot of my actual trading account with the opening orders placed. This is not a demo account. The system provides an order open level, as well as a stop for each trade. I then update the blog around 8.30 -9pm with the net result after closing the positions.

Click on the blog in the morning to find out the systems trades for the day in advance.

Day 5. Orders on 5 markets today.

Crude, Wall Street,AUD/USD/ EUR/USD and Russell 2000

I put a screen shot of my real spread betting account, showing the trade opening levels, on my daily blog each day, so you can see the systems trades in advance.

I follow this up with a screen shot of my account as I close my positions at the end of the trading day 8.30-9pm so you can see the net profit/loss position.

Day 5 End. £174 Profit.

Two of the 5 orders generated by the system triggered today: Dow Jones and crude Oil. See my blog for a screen shot of my actual trading account with the 5 opening orders generated by the system this morning, showing opening order levels and the closing positions.

I will continue to post the trade instructions generated by the system in advance each morning, as placed on my actual spread betting account, so you can follow them at my blog, I update the blog with a screen shot of my actual spread betting account at the end of the day, so you can see the profit/loss generated each day on my account as a result of following the systems trades.

Day 6. Eight Opening Orders Today.
The system has produced 8 opening orders today. The opening levels for the most part are quite away from the current price, except USD/JPY which, had I set my orders last night or earlier this morning, would have already triggered the sell.

I am following this spread betting system and putting the trades up, live in advance each day during the month of August, so that you can follow the system too at: http://hometrader1.blogspot.com/

Day 6 End. £243.50 profit today.

First day of the second week following the system: Only one order triggered today. Unfortunately, to be fair to the system, I should have been in the USD/JPY short position but I was up late and the market had already moved past the entry point. Instead of going into the trade (as is the system instruction) I left an order to open, but the market did not come back to the entry level. As a consequence I have lost out on an additional 70 points profit X £2 per point that the system instructions generated today.

I post the systems orders each morning as a screen grab from my actual spreadbetting account, then the closing positions each evening, again with a screen shot of my actual speadbetting account so yu can see the net effect on my real account balance.

Day 7. Eight Orders Today.

The system has advised 8 orders today; T Note (buy and sell levels), EUR/GBP (sell), USD/JPY (sell) , Dow (buy), Russell 2k (buy), US Crude (buy) , AUD/USD (buy). As there are both buy and sell levels on US Crude they are entered as an OCO order.

You can see the systems opening order levels as placed on my actual spread betting account (not a demo) in the morning, followed by the closing positions at the end of each day, so you can see how the system fairs over the month of August in real time, on real money.
The screen shots of the days opening orders and closing position are shown each day on my blog.

Day 7 End. £450.70p Profit today.

Of the 8 orders advised by the system and placed today; 5 triggered.
The Dow Jones buy banked £366 profit. The US T Note (10yr) was stopped out realising a loss of £93. The USD/JPY position banked £32.40. The US Crude buy banked £57.00 The AUD/USD position banked £88.30

As always, I record the actual trade instructions advised by the system each day in advance in the morning on a blog "Systematic spread betting system trial" , this features a screen shot of my actual live trading account showing the orders placed at the levels advised by the system (this is not a demo account) At the end of each day I update the blog with a screen shot of the closing positions, showing the net gain/loss each day of each system trade. You can then follow the systems trades each day in advance.

Can I ask why are you keeping a beginner style blog after 10 years experience and over a million to your name? Are you touting something?

Day 8 - Five orders today
The System has 5 orders on 4 markets today. A buy and Sell on US Crude (order levels placed as an OCO) Buys on AUD/USD, EUR/GBP and Tnote (10 yr)

My blog shows the systems trades in advance on my real spread betting account.

Thanks Charles. It's been quite interesting for me too.

To answer f's question, I am a member of the Society of Technical Analysts. An overseas colleague currently uses this method for trading contracts. I am a bit of a "system junkie" and am more familiar with spreadbetting. As the method appears quite profitable, I suggested that it may be advantageous to spread bet the method in the UK and save the tax. As a result, I am running this spread betting test for the month of August to find out.

I am recording all the trades in a blog, using a real spread betting account, warts and all, so we can compare our different experiences between trading it with contracts and spread bets.

The blog is my experience spread betting the method which some people may find interesting. I will put up a complete summary of the results and the comparison at the end of the month.

I have nothing to tout I am afraid as the method is not mine, I am only the tester. The difference in my account balance at the end of the period will however be mine to keep- or swallow!

I can see the problem with these boards is that some people do have agendas and use them to bate people, or simply be rude, I guess it gives a voice to people who wouldn't ordinarily be entertained in "real life" If anyone is interested in real life networking and trading, I can recommend The Society of Technical Analysts. They offer a diploma course (which you need to pass to become a full member) this is good grounding for anyone learning T/A, and they provide monthly meetings with some very interesting guests.

Regards.

Day 8. £192.50 Loss
Of the five system orders placed, three were filled today. The AUD/USD buy trade was stopped out at lunchtime with a loss of £158.50. The US Crude buy was filled at 7.30pm and closed by me at 8.30pm with a loss of £60.
The 10yr T Note buy was also filled and was closed by me at 8.30 with a profit of £26.
You can follow the trades in real time on my blog where I put the systems trade orders on my actual spread betting account, then again at the end of the day to show the net gain/loss from the days trades.
