There is at least 1 robot program which puts up around £100 or £200 at any one time. I believe it will match pretty much any amount if it thinks it is getting good value, I've tried betting £1000 without any problems.

Hi guys,

I really thought about this for a while and don't understand why any body would use this binary bet business. (I am relying on doing research on BOM)

Firstly, what are they providing that you cannot replicate? Take a no touch. I just calculated how much it would cost to win £350.40 if GBPUSD doesn't touch 1.7280 in seven days (7 days!!), and it will cost £649.60!! This is more than 100 pips away. Why would I want to pay them that much money? If you are prepared to risk that much, your chances of making 649.60 are pretty good by just trading the traditional way. In seven days, you will almost certainly make that much money by just taking the no touch point as your stop and getting in and out of the markets. In the long run, you will risk more but pay much much less. What is going on? If they can make money (and they will) doing that, so can you. So what is the previlege they are charging you for?

The intraday up/down bet is a joke because you have to guess where the price will be at least 5 minutes in advance and then guess where it will be from then? Huh?

When you are given a chance to guess whether the price will go up/down at the end of the day, they add a 5 pip advantage to themselves.

Someone explain to me what I missing.

As a guy that trades futures and binary some of the above posts can be misleading. Yes some of the binary bets have poor value but then you can sell the other way that being the case. The daily up/down bet has u at a 5% dissatvantage before you start but also has advantages.A futures scalp like trade often goes wrong and then comes your way. With a binary bet you would not be stopped out. Also there can be great value in the handicap bets if you call a move correctly in a period of time. As an intraday trader I find this a great asset. whatever you do if you are looking at binary betting use Binarybet.com as their spreads are better. Binexx like city index spreads are a joke with their prices. You can often lay on Binarybet and lay off on betfair(ftse only) to make a profit but only in small volumes. Also by simply using the futures market and betfair you can make money but only in small quantities

why can you only make small quantities using the futures market and betfair? just up the stake!

Jules often on betfair on the up/down spread at the start of an hour is wide and very small ammounts £2,£4 etc

Like so many of the products and ideas out there, the reason you give for doing binaries is psychological (people don't like being stopped out). The tragedy is there is a lot of snake oil sold to the public precisely because the psychological proclivity is there to be easily exploited. I looked closely at BOM bets and the whole thing is really astounding. It is such a bad idea that it is hard to unserstand why anyone would pay anything for it. I looked at all the bets and I can replicate everyone one of them in about 2 seconds. 'NO TOUCH' is my favourite though. In FOREX, these guys are spinning money doing that.

FXSCALPER2 - very interested in your comments about BOM. Do you think there is an alternative to BOM's expiry bets on indices - if so I should be very pleased to try it out. Many thanks.

If you call making an easy £500 a day on Betfair intradays small quantities I better get a new job. ;)

Can you tell me how long it takes for a £1000 bet to get matched - it's just that whenever I look there only ever seems to be £2-3 on the order book. Also, have you tried Tradesports?

Thanks

It takes less than a second to get a £1000 matched on Betfair which is far faster than any other binary firm. I am only talking in the FTSE intra market as that is the only one I trade.

Tradesports is not a firm I would ever bother dealing with as they are a two bit firm who have no liquidity and refuse trades.

how can tradesports refuse trades, they are an exchange?

Seeded market

Yeah I realise they have market makers active in most markets, but surely the prices you see in the order book can be instantly matched? (on events without an in-play delay like financial markets)
