Ftse futures/ig spreads

Hi

Can someone tell me the significance of the FTSE futures that we see on Bloomberg?
Is this simply an indication of which way the FTSE will be moving the next day or something else, and has it any connection with the spread prices that are shown on IG prior to the start of trading? Hope it's not a dumb question...

I'm not quite sure what you mean al, are you talking about pre market trading ?
