Best Pair to Trade in the Evening

I'm Starting to dabble in a little Forex trading after market hours here in the USA when the Futures markets shut down.

What would be a good pair to study and trade from, say, 6pm to 6am, CST?

That's a pretty wide window which covers most of Asia and well into the European session, so all the majors and major crosses should be tradable. That said, during Asia you may see a bit more volatility in the yen and Aussie pairs, while the euro and pound will pick it up when Europe gets going. That's just a function of who's got data releases, news reports, etc.

Is your weather finally clearing up? It looked like a mess for a while...

Is it worth while spending time on one pair, say usd/jpy ,to try and find some patterns, or
should I just look around until I find some good volatility...

If you want to trade a dollar pair, you could do worse than looking at EUR/USD and search for Wayne Jackson's thread on forexfactory.com ("Jacko's House of Pleasure and Pain").

Depends on whether you intend on being a real short-term day trader or not. Generally speaking, the shorter your holding period the fewer pairs you should watch.

Do you mean the pair where everyone makes money within certain hours?
