Are proprietary trading firms worth it if you have 8months self taught experience?
I feel some of the training might help but they charge you joining fees and such including desk charges just to use their computers? I can do all of that myself :)

From what I've read, seems like TCA are not a good setup.

Definitely are worth it for the prop firm owners who do very well out of all the suckers they churn and burn.

Just wondering what the cost would be to establish a similar set up from your own home.
Direct exchange connection 10k per annum?

Probably less than desk costs .... however you must also factor in charting packages and trading platforms such as TT. Plus by trading through a prop firm you also get the advantage of trading with other traders. Dunno, I'm not sold either way, although Shneider did tell me that connection to exchange was particulalry quick given their central location in the city.

Scalpers do beware however, the antichrist AKA Sarkozy, Brown and Andrea Merckel are plotting to introduce a Tobin tax .... this may or may not adversely affect your trading strategies :-0
