Definition of "Scalping"

How many points equates to a "scalp". I thought I'd seen someone comment that they were locked out of their Trading site for this "crime". So what is the minimum points you would get away with on a regular basis.
By the way, there is no chance of me getting locked out for being stingy with my throw away points....!!!

Assuming you are spread betting it's not the matter of points you are going for that matters its the size and no of trades that you are executing.

If you are trading a large enough size that the company would want to hedge your bets in the real market but are in and out of the market to fast for them to do it effectively or too often making you a pain in the ass then they will prob lock you out, delay your orders re-quote, and so on till you are making them a profit again

I believe that the true definition has to do with operating between bid and ask.

Typically it is considered to be a short term trade (minutes or less) at a small percentage of the daily range (maybe under 5%). Points are irrelevant given the range of markets.
