Hi to you all I am new to this Forum.
I have a "Q" has anyone used wave59, I am interested in giving the 30 day trial a go but I was put off by giving my Bank details so early.
Can anyone give me some feedback.
Many thanx,

I did give the wave59 demo a try about two years ago. It was cool and had allot of Gann style forecasting tools that you can adust quite allot. The monthly rental was more than a little much for me as most of what I like to do to forecast I can do in a spreadsheet.
There is also quite a bit you can do with astrology with that program. If that's the kind of thing your into and you like to see it on a chart, cause numbers in a spread sheet won't do then it's not half bad.
I had no problems at all with them as far as getting back to me on my questions.
So, for what wave59 is I would have to give them a thumbs up(except price).

I am also investigating Wave59 (amongst others) and would love to find a UK trader who is currently using it...

Other threads on the subject are from 2003 / 2004 and hopefully the software is more stable now...

Thanks for the response Kephaleon, do you use it? Is it worth the trouble of going through the learning curve?

Hwsteel, hope you do not mind me asking, do you use some Astrology in your trading?

I do use the planets for timing some of the cycles I use.
I don't use western astrology. i.e. this aspect is good or that one is bad and so on. I have done ALLOT of study on Gann and his use of astrology and have worked out how he used it to some degree. Some of what he did I have used and liked other things I just didn't care for and don't use.
I'm sure there is allot more waiting to be discovered about how he traded.
I found that you have to know your self before you can trade well.
Know what works for you and what doesn't. You know all that good stuff.
Now for the short answer...YES I DO.

At the moment, no. Still learning various concepts. Whether it is worth it, I would say it is up to the individual as to how far they want to be open-minded to other techniques and if one is currently comfortable with the level of skill they are at.

Thanks so much for the insight... I agree that it all starts with knowing yourself and it rather sounds like I am on a similar path to you in terms of 'affinity' (only that I am at the start of my journey)...

I came across Larry Pesavento and like him a lot...

Thanks for taking the time to reply... I am not sure why I am drawn in this direction but first I am just getting used to the market and its 'pulse'... Still working on my skill level though...

Larry Pesavento has some good stuff as far as astro trading. Not putting him down at all I would tend to say what I have read of his was somewhat basic. So I guess that would make it a good starting point? I don't believe he has a true grasp of Gann's best.
I could be wrong as I have not read all of his books.
The ones I have read were closer to a western astrology view point than I believe is best for trading. Still I don't believe it would hurt to read anything he might have to say.

If I were to give any kind of personal advice it would be as follows, so take what you may from it and make of it as you wish.

Use Astro to time the markets and then price action to get in and out.
Simple is by FAR best.
Western Astrology over complicates things allot in my humble opinion.
Most of what Gann used that I have found to work well was SIMPLE to use and calculate.
It is best to find your own way to trade using the planets and stars. That means do your own calculations and back tests when You get an Idea about something.
Use logic and a scientific method of research.
And above all else give the moon its place.

hwsteele,

"Use Astro to time the markets and then price action to get in and out." is one of the best pieces of advise I heard in a while...

"Simple is by FAR best." is the second best...

I am currently working on momentum and price - when I master that, I will incorporate Gann and the moon...

I can tell you are a successful trader and many thanks for your time (wish you were in the UK) and support...
