PLEASE:

Before trading options, just trade single instruments (forex, futures, equities, indices, etc.) ... learn to buy (go long) and sell (go short)
Learn about limit orders, stop orders, take profits and stop losses
you can Google all of the above

You should steer clear of options if you know nothing about the markets. The can be very expensive ways to trade the market if you don't know what you are doing.

options can be very very expensive when they go wrong: you have a lot of known unknowns

So far so good! Do not, under any circumstances attempt the latter...yet.

Would you play poker fro money with me if you did not know the rules?

There are loads of books and free websites explaining options in great detail. Tradingmarkets.com is as good as any, although I have not thoroughly read it yet.

Read thoroughly.
Firstly learn as much as possible about buying and selling (writing) CALLS & PUTS. And UNDERSTAND!
Learn & understand what the Greeks are.
Look at option valuing.
I don't like paper trading usually but with options I feel it is a good idea, not necessarily about winning or losing, but just a feel for how derivatives behave against the underlying asset.
Remember however fancy your trade the thing you always have to get right is the direction of the asset or the underlying asset!!
