Hello everyone,

Just begun studying an MBA in the UK, with a view to becoming a full-time FX trader in a year or two. In the time from now until then I would like to gain as much practical experience and knowledge of FX, through use of a demo account before perhaps moving on to a micro in 4-6 months.

I would like to concentrate on one session and one currency pair during this time. My study hours are pretty much 9-5 every day, so I have been considering developing a system for intraday trading EUR/USD during the US session, between 6pm and 10pm GMT, perhaps adding in some longer-term carry trades in other pairs as time goes on.

Anyway, I realise there is a ton of information in the stickies and on the internet, but if any of the more experienced guys on here could offer me any words of wisdom, must-buy books or just tell me to get on with it, or that 4 hours a day is too little time and I'm being an idiot, that would be super. Also if anyone would take a look at my system and protocols when I've put them together and give me feedback, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks for your time everyone.

John

Just get on with it. Work out a method on demo, then trade micro lots then scale up. :D

Why do you need an MBA to become a full-time FX trader?

Hi shadow,

I don't need it, it's just something that I've always wanted to do. Eventually I'd like to do a DBA as well, I'm just a bit of a fiend for learning :)

But since we're on the topic, are there any desirable qualifications for an FX trader to possess? Or with the prop desks is it purely a case of 'show us you can do it and we'll hire you'?

Cheers,

John
