Hello from a novice trader...

Hello comunity!

I'm from Colombia and i'm a very novice. Trading is a very new experience for me. Ihave some troubles, specially i have a medium english level (my native languaje is spanish) so i will be confused by some terms and words. I will try to be very clear when i will post, if i don't get it sometime, please forgive me.

Even with the best thought out system, you still need a bit of luck on your side, hope alls well mate

Luck is a word that can be familiarised with gambling.

Luck is a chance happening, or that which happens beyond a person's control. Luck can be good or bad.

There is no luck involved when placing a trade, the trader does this.

There is no luck involved when a trade is closed, the trader does this.

There is no luck involved when working out a statistical aproach to trading, the trader also does this.

Luck has no part to play when setting stop losses and targets, this is derived from education and skill.

Luck, however, can be used when a trade is placed and no clue to direction is known, no stop losses are used, no statistical aproach is in place, no working strategy is used and the market just happens to swing back in your favour for reasons unbeknown to yourself.

The poker game is a clear example of luck involved when the players get a hand of random cards. It is to the players advantage to how he uses his cards to throw the game in his favour, or in other cases get out quick before the pot raises to levels beyond his control.

The same poker players year in year out are at the top of their game not by the luck (good or bad) but by the way they play the game.

Wow, never would have thought offering somebody good luck when starting out trading would bring such a response, have to watch my words in future, or perhaps better still, say nothing and keep my nose out.

Totally and utterly FALSE. Luck is due to probabilistic effects. When you say something is statistical you are basically saying they suffer from probabilistic effects.

Hey, offering a good luck is very nice when someone is starting a new adventure, activity or job. It's like say 'i hope you will do it so good!' or 'I hope gods will be on your side'. Thanks to everyone!
