Ok i signedup for CMC Markets on thurday night.
On Friday morning 1 guy phoned me and said i had to pay the activation depsoit before they would activate my account and give me my account username or password.

He said it would be £500, and i said id pay when i got home as didn't have that much on creditcard or bank account.

Then 5mins later a 2nd other guy called and said i had to pay £200 desposit to activate my FX account.
(I only wanted spreadbetting, but had accidentally applied for both, so got 2 calls.)

Then he phoned again 2hours later and took my payment via card for £200, saying it was to activate my spreadbetting account, and that he would send me my account username and password by email.

However that was 2pm.

At 5pm i phoned them again and asked how come they hadn't sent me details yet??

It was the 1st guy who spoke and it can take 24hours, but they would try sending them to me before tonight.

Its now saturday night, they have £200 of mine, but they still havent sent me anything... :-0:(:mad::devilish::devilish::!::!:

Is this normal time delay though???

By far the best spreadbetting platform is Tradindex, and when i signed up with them it was all done within a few minutes with no phone calls or emails from their customer service!

(The only reason i want to use CMC too is because Tradindex dont offer fx spot prices, only futures)

Hello Spanish89,

This time delay is absolutely not normal, since in addition it was written on one of their web sites (CMC is present in several countries), that a payment by Visa would allow to credit your account in the hour or even less than that. It's neither normal, that you didn't got your login and password details first. The best thing to do would be to call your bank Monday, if the situation isn't resolved by then.

(CMC/Deal4free hates absolutely scalpers and they will requote you or go to the point not to let you close manually an order even if you have a position on an instrument. You have still the option to close the deal by calling their hotline, but it is just a sign that you should find another broker. If you don't scalp, don't bother about that, just about the money)

Why do you think this is the case ?
How do you know that this is the case ?

In my view it isn't for a variety of reasons discussed elsewhere on T2W

Also was the deposit on your credit card again ?

I think you are the victim of bad customer service, this is the only type of customer service that most SB firms know. However, that is not the same as being scammed.

Your £200 is almost certainly safe, your sanity when attemping to resolve the problem may not be :) Good luck.

You should get involved in the markets if you cannot afford to loose £500 very quickly. Please don't think I'm being rude..but it is the truth

Why do they hate us scalpers so much???! :devilish::mad::devilish::confused:

We are the 1s who take the biggest risks with our money.

Can they actually not let you close a position??! :-0:-0:devilish:

Good news about you transferring some money over, thats more money into the market place, good luck on not leaving it there.

I thought you weren't putting any more cash over??

again quite normal, they are taking allot of new accounts on at the moment so there is a bit of a backlog.

in my experience they have good customer service and if you talk to someone they should resolve it quickly. the fact its taking some time might be a good thing. give you a chance to workout how not to loose the money!;)

LOL

Im only planning on using virtual money on their online platform though for now, so wont actually become more in debt if i do lose more thani make trading.

I guess they may be a little busy today, but i just don't get why it takes so long for them to just open someone an account??
And why they need to do it all personally and over the phone??!

Instead of just offering it automatically and instantly like Tradindex do??(n)(n)

Ahh Tradindex, such a beautiful platofrm!! :D:D
(im only using CMC too because Tradindex dont offer spot prices for FX, on futures).
