Not sure whether this the right forum - so many of them but have to start somewhere!

I am looking to develop a system which takes advantage of the dips/pullbacks along a trend. I am happy enough with general principles, but not confident of exact entry. I know I want to find a trend and look to enter it once it reaches the trendline.

One problem is the choice of which system to look at. 1-2-3s, Joe Ross Hooks, swing trading, etc. Does one method have an advantage, or is it just a case of picking one and running with it?

Any guidence would be appreciated by the more experienced hands.

Thank you in advance.

I know your post was a long time ago and Im a newbie myself. I am developing a system which utilises the bounces within a channel . I need to do some further analysis but I will keep you posted if you are interested.

Hi,

Please do. I am trying a couple of related ideas at the moment. Early days yet, but one is MACD based and is -37 pts, and the other centres around new highs with a few filters and is currently +130pt but requires 9 open positions and vulnerable, I think, to minus FTSE movement. I'll keep on tweaking and see. Trying to get to grips with pullbacks & 123s to go with the above as well.

As soon as Ive properly tested it I will post it. I dont want to post any old rubbish (not when I could sell it for thousands!) It might be a week or two before I can post it.
