Advisory Services

Any had any experience of using an advisory service to trade? I don't seem to be able to trade profitably myself so this would be nice. A broker at the moment is telling me it has clients making 20% a month following the trades it sends out. Would be nice. I could put £100K in and start earning £240K/year. Sounds unlikely to me.

I'd be very suspect of the promise of such returns.

I have dabbled with some advisory services in the past, and have generally found them to be producing returns far inferior to what they claimed.

Trust me if somebody is capable of producing 20% per month, they would not be looking for client monies via brokers.

Thanks, that's what I said to them. Why don't they just go to a hedge fund with these amazing returns instead of bothering with me?

And thanks for posting about Alpesh Patel. Shame you didn't continue the thread further but from what you said in your post here it sounds like you were ultimately disappointed.

Unfortunately there was nothing else to write about - since I never heard back from the staff members on my emailed questions to them.

On my trading blog, I did post more detailed explanation on their method for measuring and quoting performance. I linked to the specific blog post in that thread (in case you hadn't seen it)

If you can't trade then walk away.....please don't give your money to someone else .....this is not a pension scheme or a investment trust....this is trading

It's a hugely risky business so take responsibility for your own success or walk away dude........sorry to be blunt but its not for everyone....in fact about less than 1% in the long term .....so you are in the large majority and have found out without losing a lot of money in the process !
