Hi, I am considering an offer of working for a spread betting company in a junior trader capacity. They call if trading but I imagine it would be more like brokering. The only other alternatives at the moment are working for a prop house as a backed trader. What I want to know is what would be the better choice for me to take, I want to get into trading and I know I would be successful at it. However, I would rather work for a non prop house, some where like susquehanna or one of the big IB's or hedge funds. I am just finishing uni and no matter which route I take I will study for a masters degree in financial markets and derivatives. Would the spread betting route be the best way of an introduction into the financial markets and would I be able to get a trading role on the back of it? Its a big, expanding company and I have good vibes about them.
