There was a good programme in the UK called "The Real Hustle" I think that had tons of stuff like that. It ranged from simple street and bar tricks like the one mentioned to serious scams where they were able to drive off with van loads of merchandise, rip off thousands of pounds etc. I might still be available on line, on torrentz or whatever.

They were mostly pretty old-fashioned and had been around in one form or another forever. Just con tricks, mental sleight-of-hand, the usual stuff. But the interesting thing was not only how simple they were when broken down, and how so many of them used the same basic principles, but also how effective they were.

That's not a bad parallel with trading really. It was just a case of intelligently using basic principles. Experience and practice will more or less take care of the rest.
