I would like to program Metastock to tell me how many times in the last 50 periods that the close has been with 5% of today's close. The idea is to find stocks that are trading in support / resistance areas.
I have a formula written that does this but it has to evaluate each day individually: Ref(C,-1), Ref(C,-2) ..... Ref(C,-50) which seems to be a bit longwinded to me and rapidly fills a formula window.
