I still think MA crossovers give one of the strongest signals.

Yes, without trend hard to get good signals.

If the 8 exponential MA has just crossed the 20 or 50 just after 8 am or if it has crossed and there has been a pull backto the 20 or 50 then I think you have as good a chance as any. I usually trade cable but euro /usd or jpy are good alternatives

Ofcourse if the market is obviously stuck in a range you can trade off the highs and lows with a reasonably tight stop
