Just in case anyone missed the exchange notice, Euribor spread traders will not have the advantage of being able to spend three more hours sitting in front of a computer screen.

Trading hours for the benchmark euro futures contract - Euronext.liffe’s EURIBOR future - are being extended on 27 June by three hours in the evening.

Euronext.liffe’s EURIBOR is the world’s largest euro-denominated futures contract and market participants will now be able to trade this benchmark contract from the open in Europe to the close in Chicago.

The new trading hours from 27 June 2005 will be:
London Chicago New York
Open 07:00 01:00 02:00
Close 21:00 15:00 16:00

The last two years have seen volumes derived from the US grow significantly, and increasing demand for the contract to be open later in the US trading day.

EURIBOR is one of the few truly global exchange traded derivatives contracts. Extending the trading hours for the EURIBOR futures contract increases its global coverage and allows interaction between EURIBOR and other benchmark products over a greater proportion of the total trading day.

The settlement time for EURIBOR futures contracts remain unchanged at 16:12. Likewise, the trading hours for EURIBOR options remain unchanged.
