Ego and Profitability

Ego is the best serial killer of profitability. It kills it even before it appears.
I've never met a profitable trader with inflated ego. When I see someone who manifests it, I know right on the spot that they are a loser. I don't even need to see their verified track record. Of course they don't have one. On the other hand, I have never met a profitable trader that had inflated ego. I met a lot on Myfxbook. I asked to interview them. Each and every one was a nice, humble person.

Interesting, it’s the complete opposite of what you usually see in movies or TV shows.

That’s so true. Ego blinds traders to reality and makes them ignore risk management or feedback. The best traders I’ve met are calm, humble, and focused on process, not showing off. Profitable trading requires discipline, self-awareness, and the ability to admit mistakes. Ego destroys all of that instantly.
