Dark pools trading

There is limited if almost zero information about Dark pools trading on the web and after reading this article: http://www.marketwatch.com/story/the-secret-stock-market-upstart-systems-rewrite-rules-of-trading it helped nothing to understand how regular investors and traders can trade on the alternative trading channels.

Does anyone know if any of the shares traded on the alternative systems are OTC shares, or listed shares, or none of the two?

Are you referring to US shares ? Anyway yes OTC shares are traded this way. If you wish I can point you in the direction of people who may be able to give you more information on this.

I was hoping it was worldwide shares, US as well as European shares. I am just interested in where I can find a way to how to join this trading sector, in order to see if there is money to pick up there. I guess I cant just call Goldman Sachs, heh
