I`d say you`re right on the money there. There are some that started out with a mini forex account which is $200-$300 and grew it large enough, then changed to a regular account, all the while gaining more experience in the real environment & learning to cope with the losses/gains along the way...

There`s a few of them isn`t there?, I got a call a couple of years ago from a group in Barcelona..can`t remember the name though...and just recently got another from the same place Spain, from RichmondRoyce, a costly 30minute call to my cell/mobile, {Spain to Australia}, promoting currency...

How do they make their money, if not for brokerage fees?, Do they add it onto the price of the commodity?
