    Practicing technical analysis

A while back I found a website that had a game. It used historical data from stocks (but didn't tell you which stock until you were done) and you could go through day by day and buy or sell whenever you wanted. It kept a running track of your profit or loss and was free. I lost it and I...

    pitnoise service oil and/or gold

I've been looking for one also. I believe LoveToTrade is right, NYMEX used to have one but it is no longer there. Traders Audio www.tradersaudio.com has others such as the S&P pit, but no oil.

Trading is easy - making money is hard

Thanks everyone for the suggestions and relating your experiences. Much appreciated. I'll begin my new more disciplined trading Monday. I think a very important point is to never go into a trade without a plan, and once you are in a trade, never deviate from your plan (at least as far as...

Trading is easy - making money is hard

My big losses have come on crude. I am limiting myself in the amount of contracts now. Crude is so hard because it makes so many fakeouts one way or the other, but the times it is not a fakeout can be huge moves in a matter of seconds.

Trading is easy - making money is hard

I know about setups, strategies etc. That is not what I'm asking. I can find great setups every day. My problem is with discipline. Waiting for prices to hit my levels, and in the 25% case my levels don't hold every once in a while I get a terrible idea and buy more to lower my cost average...

Trading is easy - making money is hard

I agree that professional traders only trade truly profitable setups, but that doesn't mean someone cannot trade every day and be a professional trader. Some professionals have an edge scalping quick moves every single day. But I do understand your point. Wait for true setups, anything else...

Trading is easy - making money is hard

Like you all have pointed out it is partially greed, trying to get rich fast. I think the rest of it is that I cannot accept that there will be losing trades and I need to be able to accept that and walk away with a few pips loss that will not be a significant loss to my overall capital. I...

Advice for a US Trader starting out?

DJmastro, I'm a US trader, been doing so fulltime for a year now. For a brokerage I would recommend Interactive Brokers. They are US based, quick execution, low commissions, and you can trade stocks as well as futures, forex, options, and about anything else you can think of. My first...

Trading is easy - making money is hard

It's been one full year now of daytrading full time, and I am at the point where I am very confident in my trading abilities, and find it almost easy to make a consistent, reasonable profit day in and day out. HOWEVER, I am still losing money overall. Every time I tie together a consistent...

    Cash FX

After I took a nice short setup on USD/CHF last week, the swiss bank intervened and cost me about 60 pips in 5 minutes. I think I might be in your boat with that pair now TD.

    Cash FX

TD, do you trade futures or stocks at all, or only forex? Thanks for starting this thread. Reading your old thread here on T2W was very helpful.

    Office Chair

I just ordered a Herman Miller Mirra from Amazon. Expensive, but hopefully worth it. Good reviews and I can return it if I don't like it (but I've got to pay for shipping if I send it back). I'll report back once I've sat in it for a little while. Thanks for all the suggestions. I thought...

Forex trading live calls and set ups

Nice trade on GJ Leo. Your 143.2 target was the spot. It pierced and immediately bounced.
