Heasymo,
I believe mechanical systems lose edge if too many people are using the same system. The systems you are refering to are discretionary systems. They are open to interpretation and hence are not vulnerable to over usage. An example of a good mechanical system breaking down after over...
I am in general a skeptic of the Joe Ross' tidbits. I have a few of his books and from that it appears that he is a discretionary trader. I wonder how successul a trader he is. However, I think he is a good teacher and have explained his gut feelings into word quite well. Just am not a fan of...
I am not sure if they are updating their $10k account or not, but they did update their results on their website. BTW, I am trading it live using StrategyRunner.
As for the vendors/developers, I have spoken with Marcus and Ben. They are very helpful and knowledgeable about the markets. I would...
See why I shouldn't make any comments on an active trading system!!!! CC had a losing day today.
Just amazing how I can control the markets :cheesy:

ivot,
I have been trading CC with real money for the last two or three weeks. It has indeed met and surpassed its backtested performance. Knock on wood, I don't want to jinx it.

Maji

Good trading,

Jag,
I believe you can look up the breakout strategies mentioned by SidInUK and AnomalyResearch on the EliteTrader forum. Either one of these should act as an hedge. However, there will be days when you will lose on both systems, but those days will be rare. What it will protect you is from...
I am in the process of opening a StrategyRunner enabled account to trade CoinCollector. I think it is a great system, but you probably should have a breakout/trend system to hedge the possible trending conditions when an antitrend system like CC incurs drawdowns.

I have read the many system brokers advise their clients to stop trading a system when the actual drawdown exceeds 1.5 times the historical drawdown. This is just an empirical "stop loss", in my opinion.
A few months ago a poster named EricP started this discussion on Elitetrader. He suggested...
Here is the latest results from CC's website. Gosh, the system recovered from that drawdown pretty well. I am impressed. I still think I need a breakout system to go with this.
