Has anyone actually backtested their EA over 10+ years of data, or are we all just gambling with code?

It makes little sense to backtest more than 2 years back, depending of the timeframe. It makes not sense to make an automated strategy in higher timeframes than 1 hour, even above 15 minutes, definitely not using daily bars. The recent data is the most important, since they show if the...

Why I find it so hard to trade with trend?

A good help is to tell you, you cannot use these outdated theories for anything. You need to think new.

Why I find it so hard to trade with trend?

When you can identify a trend, it is too late to get in. When the price HAS moved, it is expensive. You need to get in before the trend is visible. You also need to know this is probably a trend starting, among chart patterns printing all over.

    I need help please :)

You should know the difference between penny-stocks and stocks. Unless you know what you are doing, never trade a stock below 1$, even below 10$.

Best first steps with api / algorithmic trading

The best trading API´s are actually on crypto exchanges. Cause they are free, full featured, not FIX, open, and you do not need to ask for permission. Crypto futures are traded 24/7 which is perfect for automated trading.

    Multi-timeframe automation

It is my experience multi-timeframe will not provide better strategies. Better use cross market/symbol aware strategies, especially in crypto. Using multi-timeframe you will essentially trade the highest of the time-frames, and the lower time-frames tend to be out-of-sync or limiting the...

Newbie Questions about building an algo on QuantConnect

Whether it is worth depends. It is in general very difficult to implement a discretionary trading strategy in code, there is the human factor which cannot be coded. It also depends of the time-frame, which time-frame do you trade? To manage an automated trading system can be a full time job...

    Ukraine invasion

Your persistence is impressive, but one thing is to know how to read, another is how to think. Russian gas is typically sold through middlemen, especially now with sanctions. For example China sells Russian gas to Europe. EU sanctions didnt stop Russian gas flow into Europe, it made it more...

    Ukraine invasion

This news does not seem important, but when Macron is meeting with China soon to discuss the China peace plan, this is earth shattering. Pedro Sanchez was in China yesterday to discuss same, Sanchez was in fact invited to the ASIA summit as only non-asia leader. Sanchez said Spain cannot ignore...

    Ukraine invasion

This is about to know about what happened in the past, and what is really happening. Is also about propaganda media and fake news. The big picture is, Western World (calling them self the world) ruled the planet for 1000´s of years. They explored the 3. world countries for gold, oil, for about...

Adventures in python and algorithmic trading

Yes, the idea of buying a strategy for 10$ which will make you consistently profits would mean we would all be rich. When too many follow the same signal it will stop working. Keeping the code on own server is important, but in many cases the broker will discover your success and start copying...

1Station - the new generation of trading platforms has been released - no code of everything - enjoy

Thanks for the nice comment, I didn´t create the alert, but think the author wanted to illustrate that sophisticated custom alerts can now be defined on-the-fly. This has certainly been on top of my list, one always tend to miss the major market moves or events.
