Which is the country in Europe with lowest capital gains taxes?

Belgium does not tax gains - only dividend income (although watch out for the Tobin tax).

In Forex there is no difference between up and down. If one is down, the inverse is up.

    Frustration with trading...

zonebourse.com are 1% down on the year after producing 119% last year (without margin). They were up 10% but have lost it all. The markets are insipid at the moment, which is one reason I am out. The main reason is that I spent my trading fund on a new roof and now the Mrs wants a new bathroom.

(Please Comment) Is there any other career thats similar to day trading??

A 25-year old footballer has a much greater chance of getting megadosh than a 40-year old. On the other hand, a 40-year old bank robber probably has a much greater chance of getting away with it. A 25-year old bimbo stands more chance of getting a few million from a golfer, and as a career it...

Please help! Problem with Java & IG advanced charts.

I wonder if that's what's happened to me. If I try to open Prorealtime at work (no problem at home) all Explorer just closes. Rather tediously I can't call the IT department to fix it because I can't find a work-related reason. The same thing has happened for a month or so at investir.fr

Is eSignal Advance GET worth the price?

As ipoppy says he is a novice, it would have been more professional to refer him to OnDemand and your free education until he had built up his expertise and could use GET to advantage.

A wonderful program and with a very wide range of EOD markets. However the papertrading requires the realtime subscription. It looks very good, but I only use EOD.

I Need Some Help and Advice Setting Up & Progressing......

    1. Wide range of markets. I have used the three Euronext, UK, Noway, Sweden and Italy. I could buy US if I sent the form in. 2. Easy processing of stops, even where the markets do not accept stop orders (eg Italy). 3. No stamp duty and fees less than my brokers (I may try IB which is...

I Need Some Help and Advice Setting Up & Progressing......

CFDs don't have to be risky. You don't need to buy 10K lots, you can buy as few shares as you want and just pay the minimum commission (GBP10), and no stamp duty. You buy the number of shares that makes your maximum loss your comfort loss. It is also very easy to adjust stops - much easier...

If you must buy a trading system...

If we extend the analogy to racing If I wanted to race I could try to just do it, but I would be better going to a racing school. The instructors would not be Formula I champions - they may have won a few races in their time but they would not be very good. Nevertheless I should be able to...

    Quantitative wave analysis

I prefer 'quantitative wave analysis' - it has more of a technobabble ring. 'Financial Time Series Modelling' may be more accurate but doesn't have a ring to it.

How to easily make 1000 % per Year !

The easiest way to get that sort of return is to buy a lottery ticket. You could win €5m from a €1 ticket. However, the vast majority of players will lose money - the probabilities are against you. Rather than the best case scenario it is better to focus on probable returns and drawdown. I...

    What does PV stand for?

I have just found this on Selective Chartists.com > PIVOT POINT (abbreviated as PV) - Referred to as: The Ideal Buy Price. That makes more sense for a daytrader, although I would not have used the abbreviation PV for pivot point.

Newbie question about UK share price

Price in London is not GBP but GBX i.e.pence. That is because the traditional nominal price for a share was five shillings. Most UK shares are between 5 and 1000 pence.
