    ESMA margin changes

I have written about the Australian companies, if you are interested in an article on the pros and cons of an Aussie broker.

    Escaping the ESMA ruling

Can I open a dialogue about the margin issue? I feel as if I have completely misunderstood the ESMA rules and I realize now how detrimental this could be for the industry brokers. I placed a trade yesterday on an account that I have not had converted to PRO status yet. I shorted the Dow -...

    Spread Betting Companies Outside Europe?

I have posted a series of articles on this. Please do your own diligence on this though, but maybe my articles can avoid you from signing up to a broker in say Belize. www.tradertom.com

ESMA & Trading Outside of the EU

I HAVE TO GET THIS OFF MY CHEST..... I am trading on an account where I am not pro and I am short the Dow. I am 30-40 points in profit, so i move my stop loss to break-even, expecting the margin to reflect that. NOPE... my margin is still 5%. I called the CEO of the firm (one perk of having...

    Escaping the ESMA ruling

I have just done an updated survey on behalf of my trading group. I get frustrated with our regulators, when I sense that reason is disregarded. I have found in my group that only 15% have been accepted as pro clients. I also found that 85% in my group were looking for a broker outside the EU...

ESMA & Trading Outside of the EU

Good morning, Welcome to a new world. The first thing I saw this morning when I opened my screen was an advert for Plus 500, where they suggested you trade Bitcoin, and then after that promotional sentence, it said: "80% lose". I imagine these warnings will be ignored by people just like...

ESMA & Trading Outside of the EU

I am not so sure that opening an account with a broker outside is a loophole. I wonder if the FCA and ESMA are thinking: good riddance, they are not with us anymore. But if you can stomach the higher margin rates, then there are obvious advantages to staying, absolutely.

ESMA & Trading Outside of the EU

Hi tomorten, that is an enormous amount of posts to your name, and we joined at the same time. Anyway, I maintain good contacts to the city, so my article was not about naming and shaming. However, my "detective work" did uncover how inconsistent the rules are being applied, and that worries...

ESMA & Trading Outside of the EU

ARE BROKERS CREATING A DANGEROUS SITUATION WITH THE “PRO” STATUS? Today I called the FCA. I wanted to hear with my own ears what the watchdog of the financial service industry in the United Kingdom had to say about brokers, which are converting their clients from “retail traders” to...

ESMA & Trading Outside of the EU

Hi Metronomist, I have written an article about the pros and cons of ESMA's new rules. I will post a link. It has been a while since I have posted on Trade2Win, so I am not sure if you are allowed to post external links. Here goes. If I break any rules, please remove post...

ESMA & Trading Outside of the EU

Hi Metronomist, I am writing an article on this on my website, and I happened to be researching what people were thinking about this. This is a long and complicated topic, so I will give you the condensed version of what I am thinking: Months ago, when the ESMA ruling was made public, I...
