I like your idea of raising the stops underneath, its a strategy I try and entertain my self, in the past I used to set too many targets to get out at, but I know from experience I will never hit a home run If I put them in place. I still use them but only if I see a solid reason to get out...

Simple Trading Journal based on Volume Price Analysis - Burning Both Ends

Your absolutely right, I should hold on for longer, its one of my biggest downsides. I find some of my entries are quite good, but exits can be all over the place. What tends to happen, if a stock gets anywhere near a previous support level, i basically end up with confirmation bias to give...

Idiot-Proof Trend Following Journal (Paper trading)

wow there is a lot going on here, so many oscillators lol I know a lot of traders use moving averages, but im my opinion these can give very delayed indications. quite often you would have missed a big chunk of the move before you recognised it. I highly recommend simplifying your trading :)

Well this is annoying, my previous long trade with UDG healthcare got cash offer today driving the price up to 1016!

Yep I do! I have only just found this thread so will be certainly be stopping by every now and again, I do actually post my own content at www.burning-both-ends.com and keep very small contributions on here under journals. There doesn't seem to be many users on here though. Not sure why more...

Nice move up with LSE: RCH this week. Do any traders have any thoughts about this 245 resistance level, does this look like it could be broken? Currently long here around 219.

Ouch 7 losses in a row. Feeling the pain of a draw down from last week. Can anyone recommend any material on accumulation and /or distribution please? There doesn't seem to be alot out there on the subject. Ta

Simple Trading Journal based on Volume Price Analysis - Burning Both Ends

Lots of movement last week, couple of positions closed, few more opened. Everything open is either breakeven or in the red. The most favorable position is this one with Enquest, I have previously had a good success rate with the use of stopping volume. More details on the blog.

Simple Trading Journal based on Volume Price Analysis - Burning Both Ends

The power of volume, I only opened this trade yesterday in LSE: BAB because of the volume that was associated with the downwards price spike. Clearly some inside activity here as it gapped up this morning yielding a tidy profit. I closed this out for a quick £64 profit, however as I type this...

1 Loss with LSE: YCA 1 New position opened with LSE: BAB Really like the setup here with LSE: PPS, put an order in looking for a run back up to 115. Is this accumulation coming in?

Annoying loss in LSE: SBRY of -£22.05. Not 100% sure if I made the right choice closing this one out, but I would rather keep the losses small. Probably small numbers to a lot of people on here, but if I can get the strategy right, then my positions sizes will just increase along side my account...

ok quite a detailed macro outlook then, what about your entries and exits, what determines them exactly, do you rely heavily on moving averages?

Hi Morina, you mention your trading is based on Wykoff's work, I believe this is based around volume isnt it? if so, could you recommend any of the books? Thanks Sean
