CFDs are the easiest way to trade indices for retail traders.

It really depends on what stocks you want to trade. All CFD brokers allow to trade popular shares. Overall, stock offerings vary so you need to check with your preferred broker if they offer the shares you want to trade. I think IG and Spreadex offer lots of stock CFDs.

Every time a new regulation comes out people start speculating is something is dead. Spread betting is here to stay.

As others said before me, as a spread betting broker they are alright but the spreads are not very competitive.

Spread betting is classified as a betting activity so no taxes at all, just like with football or any other betting.

It's just an anti-laundering measure. Spread betting is tax free so no need for the HMRC to be involved.

There's CGT allowance, which is around £12k so if you made less then you shouldn't worry.

I think it's the most common mistake, as at time we get tempted to deviate from the plan and then pay for it.

A few points. 1. Doesn't matter what currency it is, there's always inflation. 2. Crypto is the latest scam with many unscrupulous brokers. 3. Crypto volatility is insane.

You're pretty much asking for everything any respected and reliable spread betting broker should provide in the first place. As for the spreads, try a broker with fixed spreads to avoid surprises.
