Malta: trading income = foreign-sourced income?

Andorra Yes Andorra has now got a 10% income tax. They still have general allowances of 40K before getting taxed. Trading income will be taxed as well.

I left Malta 2 years ago for Andorra. Love it here and 0% tax. Trading and snowboarding, good schools for kids.

Trading for a living & taxes in the Netherlands

I am Dutch and I had a read through it. Basically a professional options trader with 20 years+ experience started trading for himself and made losses of €300K+ over 2 years. And tried to use these losses to deduct his tax. The court ruled against it. The reverse is that profits will also not be...

Anyone Trading from Tax Free Haven?

You are taxed in the country that you are resident (unless you are american). As Andorra has no income tax, there is no tax on your trading profits.

Malta: trading income = foreign-sourced income?

As an island entity I never enjoyed living there full term. I ended up spending less than 6 months each tax year in Malta. I moved to Andorra, Dubai is way too hot for me and far away from where i want to be.

Malta: trading income = foreign-sourced income?

The same rules do not apply to Malta. But good to find an official answer if you will find one. Check out the british expat forum for Malta. There is a guy called gozomark who has been living for 10 years in Gozo. I believe he uses a top accounting firm in Malta to provide the answer and he has...

Anyone Trading from Tax Free Haven?

Property to buy is very expensive. However rented property is not. There is a glut in apartments. I have now seen apartments with 3 bedrooms for rent at the unbelievable low price of €350 a month. You can easily stay as a tourist in Andorra (although the maximum of 6 months is only allowed, no...

Trading for a living & taxes in the Netherlands

It always comes down to the kids. Holland scored the number one position in the UN happy kids index. Where Malta where I am based now ranks at the bottom for European countries. Malta has got good weather and is also very tax friendly for foreigners. However I find island life a bit difficult...

Trading for a living & taxes in the Netherlands

DHB, That is good news. I will read the court case ( I can read dutch) and see what it is about. I do trade for a living and I am profitable since I started trading 3 years ago. I don't know if I would move back to the Netherlands. I have been away for 13 years and I am no longer liable for the...
