    Lunchtime Trader

The free trial is a 'cancel within first thirty days and don't get billed' offer - think 'if you don't like it, send it back'. Has anyone actually tried it? I agree with all the above comments about tips, but that doesn't answer the question in post #1!

    RSI-5 Ftse index trading system

Hi Ben, Stumbled across this thread when searching for traders near me. Did you ever try your system in real life? I had a similar system once, but the slippage between EOD/theoretical prices and CapSpreads'/real prices was just too great... Yours, Steve

Money Management Technical Analysis Trade Management Q&A

Risk and Reward I'm with FXSCALPER2 on this - people shouldn't reject a system on its R:R ratio alone. I'm much more interested in a system's Expected Outcome and Volatility. I don't care what the R:R ratio is, as long as the Expected Outcome is positive and I can afford the Expected Volatility.

Need some objective rules/formulas to stop-gain

'Better' stop-profits? How do you define 'better'? Do you mean stop-profit orders? I've recently seen a £400-profit position-trade close as £100-profit on a downward spike and I'm fairly happy with that. Stop-loss orders are a trade-off between given profits back and being stopped out by...

Housewife's Guide to Trading the EURUSD

Housewife's guide? I think I've read every post in this thread, and in the thread that preceded it. Am I the only one who hasn't seen a 'Housewife's Guide'? Well done to ZDForex for posting his/her trades in public in real-ish time - credit where credit's due - but why the attention-grabbing...

The other shoe has dropped I've been warned that, when everyone around me seems to be telling me that a stock HAS to keep going up, I should prepare for a fall. On the same tack, I guess I should have prepared myself for a fall in my account when I seemed to believe that my balance HAD to keep...

Drat: Journal's still not working! What am I like!? I write a long post about how I need to reflect more on my trades and what do I do? I write a long summary on statistics from my real-money accounts, and don't reflect on anything! I didn't even comment on the fact my 'FTSE Weekly' account...

The UK Trader's Bible, by Dominic Connolly

Neg-sum game in a zero-sum world The intention of the participants is to make money in the short term, or failing that, the long term. As far as I can tell, nobody cares who it comes from! We have a different understanding of what a zero-sum game is, or we're talking about different 'games'...

My Trading Journal doesn't work Well done, messirs T2W & Steenbarger, for Thursday's KLab article. You, gentle reader, have probably already read it; if you haven't, go do it now! My weekly journal on T2W is a recap and reflection on my week's trading, as recorded in my hard-copy journal. The...

$5000 to $23,700 in two months by ZDforex

Good for you! To my mind, a big part of this game is risk-minimisation. The lower the risk-percentage, the more can be risked on any move. I'd rather definitely get 1-pip at £100/pip than maybe 100-pips at £1/pip! A lot of the risk comes on the front end of the trade, so I'm keen to see what you...

Is anyone here a full time consistent spreadbetter?

Volatility & cost I chose the FTSE because it had the best ratio of average trading range to spread of the indices on Capital Spreads, and I chose indices to limit my universe of markets and to keep me as far as possible from those 'orrible fundamentals! I'm British, so the FTSE is quoted in...
