Potential long in the 1230 area? May well continue lower over time but high chance of a decent bounce off the trendline

    Question about stops

What Tomorton said. Stops want to be at a price level which if broken invalidates the structure and negates the trade. That could be just below a daily low or other significant price level appropriate to your timeframe. You can have sensible views on what is driving the market today but it's...

Are these forums essentially just the blind leading the blind?

*** *** What's your point exactly ? Either you are a: trolling to which you're being a dick but you get a kick out of the replies, yapping attention seeker type or b: you want some hard confirmation someone is making a lot of money before you'll what? let them hold your hand or take their...

Are these forums essentially just the blind leading the blind?

I didn't know what that was, just had a look. Use my own setups. Sell rallies/buy dips on very overbought/oversold intraday moves. +80/-20 RSI on the hourly and up against decent support/resistance. Stop to cost soon as but not too soon. If the daily or weekly RSI has a similar over extension...

How will you trade todays UK election

Could be worse, had a few nibbles buying the £ thinking the exit poll would play out as incorrect. All stopped out at cost so no pain but no gain. Scalpers probably did better. Anyone long sterling beforehand would have been slaughtered.

Anyone convinced on dollar longs yet?

Little add on, this is the same descending channel on an hourly and we fell out of it yesterday, which it has done before but is now finding resistance on the bottom trendline. Looking tentatively bearish. Long gold from 1274.20 stop below the daily low at 1271 (now moved to cost 1274.30)...

    Queries/Observations of a noob.

P.S. when you place a trade with FXCM you enter the lot (contract) size but just below it will automatically calculate how much that translates to per pip. £1 per pip £2 etc. If you know where your stop needs to be it's much easier to calculate the correct lot size based on your risk exposure...

    Queries/Observations of a noob.

Dear FXCM, most of them but you already know that. Like to see BTC/USD in there, most ppl think that's relevant these days. Re: feedback you could stop changing your holding company name, get yourselves unbanned from the US for murky market making practices and maybe raise a bit more market cap...

How will you trade todays UK election

Sidelines till it all shakes out, definitely. That is particularly rubbish re: Lmax, don't use them but I like their daily briefings. If I WAS punting the pound for a probable tory win... GBP/JPY might be a bigger jump than cable, dollar a little bid today. And status quo=risk on. GBP/JPY would...

Good for you Mr moderator, however that's a political viewpoint. This is a trading thread :p

Anyone convinced on dollar longs yet?

Dollar has been unwinding since Xmas but sits now at some pretty chunky support. Anyone buying into this? Cannot decide. Fed decision is soon but the rate hike is 96% probablity so mostly priced in. Last time the fed raised the dollar sold off
