What is the 'real' difference between SB and CFDs?
I am looking to trade forex maybe with IGIndex (SB) who quote 5 tick spread for the major pairs or IGMarkets (CFDs) quoting 3 ticks.
I obviously like the 3 ticks but am not familiar with the fundamentals behind them. Anyone know - I did drop...
Hi, Do any of you guys know of UK based forex trading companies that do online trading (i.e. over the web without any software download so I can trade on the go)??
FXCM are software based and ACM / Oanda are web based but not in UK or regulated by the FSA here. I haven't had any luck with my...
Hi,
Anyone here trade FX with oanda? I have been using their demo and am about to go live. Just wanted some opinions on any experiences, issues or problems with them? I really liked their demo. Any help appreciated.
Cheers!

I was on holiday in the UAE recently and loved it there. A couple of ppl I know have lived out there and really liked it too; couldn't believe it was all tax-free. Thought why not do a little stint out there. Problem these guys were in IT and don't much about trading / financial world.
I was...
:p Hi All,
Is anyone trading from a tax free place say Isle of Man, Dubai or Bahrain?
I am considering my options and was hoping someone has some practical experience out there. If anyone is trading from the above, or any other tax free base - pls drop me a line. At this moment in time I am...
people who need to hold positions (not speculators) i.e. investment banks, corporates, etc.
I would say, being all electronic will not really be a burden for brokers or exchanges. Their set-ups are scalable and I'm sure they're expecting increased volumes for the foreseeable future. One of the...
High Volumes (witness Eurex Bunds) can greatly reduce volatility. Made my life as an intra-day trader a big pain in the ass. However, must be great for 'paper'. They can hits 1000s of lots at one price. This was not possible up to 18 months or so ago - when barrel scapers like myself enjoyed the...
I'm a spread trader - did the odd scalps in bund, but gave up sometime ago when market got too liquid. I like to get in and out of trades fast. Some serious size goes thru at prices. I currently trade bobl/bund spreads looking at moving averages, bollinger bands and recent 'historic' levels. Use...
10 yr t-bond is good indicator - watching bobl and schatz too. Eurostoxx can help too along with EURUSD together with USDJPY. What timescale are you working on? I'm talking short-term intra-day.
I'm looking at both at the moment (TED being 10/5 yr rite? - we call it FITE over here!)- NOB seems only good in times of 'action'.
I'll be looking to close out trades the prop shop way, but will be working towards longer intra-day if it suits me when more experienced. The spread ratios...
I'll be trading intra-day. Trading strategy pre-dominantly on fundamentals, with the occasional look at technicals. Fimat for brokerage.
Understand a roundbout ratio 1.5 - 1 works well on intra-days. Like the look of 10/5 yr spread - don't know much about eurodollars, will start investigating...
Hi, I am to start trading T-Bonds soon and was hoping to pick an experienced traders brains?
I will be spreading 30yr/10yr and 10yr/5yr on CBOT. I will be playing around with various ratios. Any ideas on what is working good? Also do the T-Bonds spread good against say Eurex bonds or CME...
Having a foul mouth with associated vocabulary helps a lot of day-traders in arcades. Nice to vent all the stress and frustration in the shit moment, in particular day trading. You should try it!
