MT4 all the way. Easy to use and you can do loads of stuff. They also don't take up too much bandwidth or PC power

Risk management is key. I would risk only 2% of my account and if the market looks dicey I will risk less. That is the key to making it long term

I'd start trading now and keep a record of how you do. Then you will have something real to discuss in the interview
