a DOME is only useful if you do quick execution and have short time frames. it can easily make you overtrade.
the problem with any system is the underlying market changes. It's very rarely a sudden change either which would make it obvious. It's a gradual process before you notice your system isn't performing as well.

i think spread trading would work for you. Once you have a good feel for the market you won't need to be watching the market constantly and just leave alerts on at important levels .
