Which one of these 2 companies is Google in the process of buying? Checkpoint Systems - CKP or Check Point Software - CHKP? Check Point Software ( www.checkpoint.com ) seems to be the obvious choice, but it seems that reports are to the contrary. Why would Google buy a company like Checkpoint...

Well, it might be like any other merger: initial over-excitement, followed by a nice settling. In the software industry, its hard to tell. Sometimes software companies will merge to fill gaps in their product offering. The result can be industry dominance.....for a while anyway. Of course...

Well, I wonder, how diverse do I need to be at a minimum? And what is the maximum and minimum amount of money that I should put in any qiven stock? Obviously, I know that you can put a lot more into bluechips than penny stocks, but where are the threshholds?

Well, the US markets are looking pretty good now. The prices don't look like they'll be too low for long. I'd say it looks pretty solid for at least 6 months.

I'm not overly eager to jump on the Google bandwagon so quickly. They seem to be loosing market share by the day. Too bad they didn't go public a year or 2 ago. :confused:
