Rollercoaster heading down more than up

don't put more money in! I was at £14 this morning & could have made it over the ton on ftse 100 only, little more experience etc. Did some silly bets this evening on wall st & back to £26 so I've got to make that gain again tomorrow. That's the job [i.e the labor]. Recon all you have to do is...

Blowing your account - 'how do you get back up!?!'

Luck should be eliminated from our game play. I've had as much good luck as bad today & made gains. When I was learning agricultural mechanics my tutor asked me if i'd be "able to put it back together again?" [an MF135 Tractor], I said 'with a bit of luck'. He said 'It's skill, not luck'. The...

FTSE 100 - Strategies or Plans?

Attended an ig seminar last week in which we were told most bets were still [I]long[I] on the FTSE100! I had to shake my head in disbelief. Junior trader here, still reading books & trying to 'snipe' the index above. I don't actually have trading capital [in a lump sum], just x from wages to...

Blowing your account - 'how do you get back up!?!'

I'm spread betting & if I were to use 2-3 % of my trading capital that'd give me a £10 deposit. Instead I've decided to put in £50 lots & small [<£5 bets] to try to build up capital. If / when there's enough I will probably use the 2-3% 'rule'

    Chance of a big loss

Sat all day as the FTSE rises then drops over 100+ fairly smooth pts, not wanting to give it my 10 pence worth. I'm really surprised that a small player like me can effect the market, but that's what happens every time I place a bet! Even saw the double 'evening stars' at 13:04/5 before the big...

    Chance of a big loss

Trouble with, [I]two[I] troubles I find with IG is: 1/ The charts don't match the price exactly; the chart seems slightly delayed which can be a bit of a pain [bandwidth??], and secondly & more annoyingly I can not get volume to display on the charts simple or advanced. I know when I was paper...

    Chance of a big loss

I G guaranteed stops do what they say. I currently have to use them as part of their 'trade sense' starter package I'm using at the moment.

    Phew! Back to basics...

Thanks 9! I'll take your comments on board. I work weekends [friday am-monday eve], which gives 3 days off in the week. Day trading would possibly suit best to start, with the hope of creating enough for longer, less risky[?], growth. Read templar's 'rules of wealth' recently & loved his...

    Phew! Back to basics...

They were just more 'essential' than yesterdays 'seminar', for me. Now following 'the basics of trading' threads by ftsebeater... at last!....interactive. Maybe I talk too much!

    Phew! Back to basics...

I kept the cash in my pocket. It was a 'sales' seminar. Seemed to me that 3 days could only lead to an indoctrinated opinion; & you had to do it their way or the guarantee was void [make x2 the course fee in a year or your money back]! I guess mr winter was the famed famed guru rather than...

    Phew! Back to basics...

Hello & hurray! After seeming to waste a day [almost], yesterday at a wininvestment seminar which put my studies back [!], I can now say I've made progress here:Please Register thanks to a link from this site. I can now read this & carry on reading this: Nicolas Darvas | How I Made 2 Million...

    Sticky Introduce Yourself

Good Morning I think I've found a good recourse for the kind of information I'm looking for. What I want to do is what we all want to do here, invest wisely. I came to the site after researching Darren Winters having attended a 2 1/2 hour seminar yesterday. I wanted to find out more before...
