I traded penny stocks from around 1975 and I started part time trading forex in early 2000. In 2002 transitioned to full time trading FX. I have studied extensively Bollinger, Nison, Murphey, DeMark and given up much time to many others. Over the years I developed a system which combined price action, supply & demand levels, pivot points and overbought/oversold (imbalance) indications.
I am not a trained programmer (self taught and messy codes), but I have also coded a few MT4 indicators in an attempt to enhance some of the qualities that conventional indicators appeared to offer.
Recently I was working on a new indicator when it suddenly hit me (I must be very slow) that every one of my indicators was simply a mathematical representation of price and worse still .....they were behind the curve.
As a result of this revelation I started to look into neural networking for forward looking indicators (a well trodden path it would appear). During this research, I happened upon the work of a trader who had given up all forms of indicators and was extolling the virtues of naked trading.
I have since gone back to the drawing board and am re-developing the skills that I feel I should have concentrated on from the beginning - Reading Price Action.
