    CMC New Charting Package

Hi, I have complained to the CMC help desk about the many features missing, including the worst, not being able to save templates. I also like to put an LRI on an RSI which you can't do now. You must complain and ask for changes. The more they get the quicker they respond. That's what they told...

What do you make on average per day?

Your earning potential comes down to your experience, information quality and skill. The size of your trading fund has to be important and the amount of that you expose to loss with each trade - should keep it very low at start of trading less than 2% if you are spread betting for instance...

    Pro,Upda or Share ?

Trader 2 I am pleased to hear build 267 is functioning so well, not to mention relieved that all my time and effort has not been wasted. Updata undoubtedly made a huge mistake in releasing Trader 2 in such a bug ridden state.

    Pro,Upda or Share ?

My performance with the software is another issue, whether it is good or bad. The relevant point is that I have bought a tool to help to do a job and that I might reasonably expect that tool to perform in a stable manner and not have to work around it's short-comings all the time.

    Pro,Upda or Share ?

Updata Trader Profesional II My brother and I both have Updata prestel feed systems and continue to experience probelms, some unique to our systems and some identical. Chart time periods are not saved, nor are trend indicators applied. The workspace - your personal settings and combination of...

    Why Spread Bet?

Sharky, Can you give an example of a spread bet and where you set your stop loss and how the actual share price compared at the time? Does it matter if you disclose to the spread betting company whether you are buying or selling when asking for a quote and does the size of the bet affect the...

Making money in these uncertain times

I hope the knowledge of my experience of hard drive failure does benefit others and thank you for the advice. Does this Mirror Drive programme give you a "bootable" disk? Do you simply have to then plug it in as the replacement "C" drive in the event of a failure?

Making money in these uncertain times

Thank you for some very useful advice. I would like to know which methods you use to short the UK market - I know this is a distasteful topic at the moment, but I would like to know how to go about it in the most effective way - as you mentioned it is a vital tool in normal circumstances...

Investtech Just followed your link. I tried it out on NIS, which I was regretting buying the other day. It confirms my doubts. What a useful bit of analysis to give you a quick unbiased view. Thanks, Sam

    Northgate Information (NIS)

An equal battle between buyers and sellers is going on this morning with 1.4 million shares trading currently around 35.5p. The shares fell yesterday because the Times said NIS had been sounding out the institutions about fund raising and that they may issue a profits warning. This has been...

    Edinburgh Oil & Gas (EDG)

Buying Continues Hello Darth Up again another 9.6% to 74p with more than twice as many buyers as sellers. I must admit it does seem sensible to lock into profits as and when they occur. However I missed the boat on the big jump on this last time - these leaps always happen when your back is...

    Edinburgh Oil & Gas (EDG)

A bit late, but The Sunday Telegraph might have been behind the 18.4% surge in EDG today, by printing that EDG could be worth another 100p on the present share price (then 57p). In March they were just about 20p and then three weeks ago they had a rapid rise to 73p. After today they are back at...
